Mr Harton has started his Forest School training and while we cannot say we are a Forest School (yet), he is using his training and the principles from Forest School to help enhance the curriculum and learning of children at Brackensdale.
Forest School is a child-centred inspirational learning process, that offers opportunities for holistic growth through regular sessions. It is a long-term program that supports play, exploration and supported risk taking. It develops confidence and self-esteem through learner inspired, hands-on experiences in a natural setting.
Our FS1 children have thoroughly enjoyed working collaboratively in the outdoor learning space to use natural resources to create dens for teddy bears and our Year 1 children will be starting thier activities next term. We can’t wait to hear all about it!
