National Poetry Day
National Poetry Day takes place each year on 5th October. This year’s theme was Refuge. As a school, we explored different texts to see what message they gave us about refugees. It was lovely to see how kind and empathetic our children were of those seeking refuge.
Roald Dahl
For Roald Dahl Day, each year group chose a different story from his huge collection of books. They completed different learning opportunities
such as, creating their own dream jars, drawing in the style of Quentin Blake, made collages and even had a chocolate tasting event.
Black History Month.
We have taken the time during October to spread awareness and learn more, whilst continuing to support the Black community’s histories, traditions and culture. Each year group has learnt about a particular person from our two key texts. Ask your child who they have explored and the impact they have had on life today.
